About the role

Colleges and universities are one of the main ways Capabilio reaches students at scale. A college that adopts Capabilio gives its students a career map, assessments and a rating built from real work, and gives its faculty and placement team one honest view of how ready their students are.

This role owns that relationship from the first conversation to the renewal. You are not a salesperson handing over a brochure. You are the person a placement officer or head of department calls when a cohort needs to start, when something breaks, or when they want to know whether it is working.

You will work directly with the founder. Early on there is no playbook to follow, so you will write it: which colleges to approach, what a good pilot looks like, what to promise and what not to, and how to tell whether a college is really using the product.

What the work looks like

Most weeks mix four kinds of work.

Conversations: first meetings and follow-ups with placement officers, principals and heads of department, in person and online.

Pilots: planning a first cohort with a college, getting students enrolled, setting the academic calendar and walking faculty through what they see in the product.

Listening: collecting what each college asked for, what confused its students and what its faculty liked, and writing it up clearly for the product team.

Keeping score: tracking which colleges have started, which are active and which are going quiet, and acting before they drift away. Some of this is in person at colleges, which is why the role is hybrid.

What you will do

  • Open conversations with colleges and universities and run pilots with a first cohort
  • Understand how each college decides and buys, and guide it through that process
  • Get every cohort started: students enrolled, the academic calendar set, faculty using it
  • Walk faculty and placement teams through what they see in the product
  • Bring back what colleges ask for and turn it into clear requests for the product team
  • Track which colleges are active and step in early when one goes quiet
  • Keep each college active and lead the renewal conversation
  • Write down what works so the next partnership starts faster

What you bring

  • You have sold, partnered or run programs with colleges, universities or education institutions
  • You can explain a technical product plainly to a non-technical decision maker
  • You are comfortable in a room with a principal or a head of department
  • You follow through: a pilot that starts also finishes
  • You write clear follow-ups and short reports
  • Clear speaking and writing in English
  • You are comfortable on a small team where the plan is still being written

Nice to have

  • Existing relationships with colleges or universities
  • Experience with edtech or placement programs
  • Fluency in a regional language used by the colleges you would work with
  • Experience tracking partnerships in a CRM or a simple spreadsheet

Your first proof

After we read your application, this is the kind of problem you would work on. You see it now so nothing is a surprise.

Pick one real college you know. Write one page: who at that college decides, what they would want to see from Capabilio in a first 30-day pilot, and how you would know it worked. Tell us what you would need from us to make it happen.

Your first months

  • Month one: learn the product as a student and as a college administrator
  • Month one: write the first version of the pilot plan: who we approach, what we offer and what we ask in return
  • Month two: run your first conversations and bring back what you hear
  • Month three: start your first pilot cohort with a college and track it week by week
  • Ongoing: turn what worked and what did not into a repeatable way to start a college

How we work

Capabilio is a small team building something people use to make real decisions about their careers. That shapes how we work.

  • Show evidenceWe back claims with something real: a test, a number, a link, a user. When we do not know, we say so.
  • Be honest about what is not workingBad news early is useful. A bug, a wrong question or a missed deadline is easier to fix when we hear about it.
  • Keep the next step clearEvery task ends with a clear next step and an owner, so nothing sits waiting.
  • Own your workYou are trusted with real problems and expected to see them through, and to ask for help early.

What you can expect from us

  • Clear scope for each task
  • Direct feedback on your work, including what is not working
  • A direct line to the founder
  • An answer from us either way after your interview
  • This role is hybrid. We will agree the details of when and where we work together before you accept.

How we interview

Four steps, in this order. You always know which one you are in.

  1. 1Send proofTell us about one program, pilot or partnership you ran or helped run, and what actually happened. Use the form or email careers@capabilio.online.
  2. 2We read itThe founder reads it and looks at what you did yourself, not only the outcome.
  3. 3Write the one-page planYou write the college plan described under Your first proof. It is scoped before you start, so you know what we are looking for.
  4. 4Talk it throughWe go through your plan together and talk about how a first call with a placement officer would go. Either way, you hear the answer from us.
